The Stealing of Emily - The Fantasy ( 'stealth philosophy' ) that is our Court System

When I first started writing my first book The Stealing of Emily, I hardly realised how long it would take, what form it would be or what the real situation was. A similar situation is starting to emerge again with the advertisement of my book on social media. I was not ready for the feedback from the lovely people who liked the page on Facebook and poured their hearts out with the misery that these kidnappers had brought to their families. It was apparent from the outset that this process was going to itself have a story of its own. This is a piercing account of a justice system that faltered at its core. Through a three-pronged or tripod approach, the book examines the uncertified judge who presided over jurisdictional errors and an unlawful ruse, allowing perjury and deception to taint the judgment. This miscarriage of justice not only denied Emily her rightful place with her family but also reflected systemic failures, with at least 80 similar cases slipping through the cracks. The 2012 Final Report from the Council of the Inns of Court (COIC) Disciplinary Tribunals and Hearings Review Group sought to address these deep-seated issues. Under the leadership of Brigadier Tony Faith CBE, 85 recommendations were implemented to restore confidence in the administration of justice. Yet, despite these reforms, the wrong done to Emily remains unrectified, leaving her family in a limbo of unfulfilled promises.
